OK, you just went down to your local “big box” store (Walmart?) and got that $1,200 flat screen TV for the sale price of $1,195! While there, you also bought either a 3 in 1 flat panel TV stand for $140 or a wall mount for $60. Six hours later the flat screen is up and running on either the TV stand or wall mount (COOL). First up is a 4 hour 49er game. You sit in your favorite recliner and look up at the TV on the wall or stand. (Feels like you are sitting in the front row of a movie theater looking up at the TV.) Four hours later after the game you have a “crick” in your neck from looking up. Next day, your wife says she has a “crick” in her neck from watching 3 hours of her “soaps”. She also complains that the 3 in 1 flat panel TV stand or wall mount makes the living room look like the control room on the Starship Enterprise and it doesn’t work with the room “decor”. The only thing missing is Captain Kirk barking orders at everyone. (Needless to say “Mommas not happy” and you are sleeping on the couch tonight.) Solution?? … Go “OLD SCHOOL” with a regular TV stand that places the flat screen at eye height when you are sitting in your recliner or on the couch. Get the base that came with your flat screen and attach it. Get the wall mount off the wall (if you can without ruining the wall) or donate the 3 in 1 flat panel TV stand to a friend. Place the flat screen on the regular TV stand and you are done. (WAY COOL!) It matches any decor, doesn’t make the room look like the control room of the Starship Enterprise and “Mommas happy” (and you are not sleeping on the couch tonight).
LUCKY YOU, we happen to have A REGULAR TV STAND! Its 29″ high, 36″ wide and 18″ deep. Has two side storage areas with doors for your DVDs or VHSs (daddy, what’s a VHS?). Three middle shelves for your flat screen receiver, DVD player, independent sound players or whatever you have. Priced at $55.
