Most of our customers are aware of the approximate prices we put on our furniture (dressers, side chairs and rockers).
Occasionally, they will see a price on an item which generates “sticker shock”. They then ask us why is that “price so high”.
Actually the answer is fairly simple … “because it’s a collector piece”. What establishes it as a collector piece? Because there is a large number of persons who specialize in collecting that particular type of furniture, and they are the people who establish the price by their demand for the item.
We don’t specialize in collector items, but sometimes we will run across them when we are looking for inventory. It just so happens that we picked up a couple of “mid-century” items when we were buying an estate. These two items are referred to as “Danish modern” furniture. One is a side chair and the other is a rocker.
We priced these items based on what the price is currently in the market as established by eBay and Etsy. We think we have priced them competitively considering the current market. Come in and take a look, whether or not you are a collector.
